The blade is a total of 27.25 inches long and is hand forged with a folded K120C powder steel blade. The temper line is very distinct and since it was made by the traditional claying methods you can also see the different layers and grain patterns. The tempering results in a HRC60 edge and an HRC40 back side.

This Paul Chen sword comes with a scabbard that is true to the original swords and which is lacquered in gold and there is a decoration with a battle scene on it. The handle is very elegant and detailed. The wrapping lets you get a good grip so you can practice and train and will not have to worry about sweat causing the katana to slip from your hands.  The handle is also about 11.5 inches long so you can also use this weapon with one or two hands.
