Last year after finishing our deck we placed some very simple wood post caps over the posts to protect it. Though we really didn’t like them that much, they did the job. However, we have spent much more time on the deck than we had ever expected so we decided to spruce it up a bit and invest in some deck finials. We found some wonderful choices and stuck with the wooden theme to add to the beauty of the deck.

While we were shopping we ran into some really great metal finials and decided to purchase these for the gate posts entrances on either side of our house. Once we got them all installed and looked at the yard, we were really pleased with our selection. Now we are looking to replace the cheap treated wood postcaps on our fence posts with some really good cedar or redwood caps to finish off the new look. What I like the most is we’ve been able to upgrade the look for very little money and in today’s economy, that’s a great thing!
