I have cooked in clay for a number of years and I never get tired of using this cookware for some of my favorite dishes. As long as I’ve had some of the pieces I’m surprised I haven’t broken them by dropping them since I tend to break glasses and other dishes pretty often. But my clay is still going strong. I wanted to buy some as a holiday gift for my brother since he loves to cook too, but he tends to like more modern styles in his kitchen. So that’s why I think he’ll love this Romertopf Swing Contemporary Clay Baker, and I might even buy him both sizes so he can use them for his entree as well as a side dish.

I’ve used my Romertopf Clay for everything from fish and chicken to soups and hot desserts. The dishes are wonderful for baking and because you don’t need to add additional fats and oils to your recipes, you end up with healthier meals too. Because the clay pots are so unique and versatile, they make great gifts for holidays and housewarmings and will surely be appreciated for years to come.

Since my son has allergies to quite a few foods including eggs, I end up making a lot of our desserts and breads from scratch at home. It’s just simpler that way, not having to worry about what ingredients might be hidden in store-bought items. The tricky part to baking without eggs is getting the cake to stay together and not crumble to pieces when you try to remove it from the baking pan. Of course it matters what kind of pans you use as well. A cheap pan will make it more difficult to get decent results as well. So that’s why it’s worth investing in quality stainless steel cake pans for your baking projects.

I should know since for years I was getting by with cheaper pans that I had from when I had my first place. And they were starting to show their age, no matter how I tried to scrub them clean. Since my dishes were really starting to stick to the pans, I knew it was time to buy some good stainless bakeware for my kitchen. Once i replaced my old baking pans, I was amazed at how much better my cakes turned out. No more sticking to the pan – the cakes released easily and smoothly and they looked perfect.

This Banana Carrot Salad has all the makings of a kid-approved dish. What’s not to love? It’s got bananas, carrots, and yogurt, all with a dash of sugar just to sweeten it up a bit. When you take your first bite, you’ll know why kids love it. It’s crunchy and smooth all at the same time. I love that I’m putting fruits, vegetables, and dairy on the same plate…and that they’re eating it all up! Be sure to use regular carrots, not the so called “baby carrots”. Baby carrots don’t taste the same as the big kind and you’ll end up with only the crunch with no flavor.

When you can mix up fruit and vegetable salads using a cheap fruit recipe, you can afford to serve salads several times a week. You and your family can eat healthier and stay within your budget all at the same time. We sometimes think that we have to find unusual food items that are considered “health foods”. The truth is, your common ordinary carrot and banana can get you, and keep you, on track, both nutritionally and budget-wise.

For a long as I can remember, my mother-in-law has been the designated lasagna cook for family gatherings. Even though all of her children are grown, she still enjoys making it for special dinners or simply just because. I think she just really loves to watch her children and her grandchildren enjoy her food, so she never minds making up this family favorite. And she also makes a killer sweet potato casserole at Thanksgiving! For years she’s been carrying her delicious dish in an open casserole pan with aluminum foil on top, sandwiched between a couple of potholders to keep it warm. Then we purchased her a fabulous Portable Pyrex Bakeware Set that has made traveling with her home-cooked meals so much easier.

This great 9 piece set makes it possible to take a whole meal on the road. It has an oblong baking dish, 2 rectangular side dishes, and matching covers plus 2 large hot/cold packs, and a sturdy nylon black carrier. The Pyrex is so versatile – it’s good for baking, cooking, microwaving, serving, and leftover storage too! And of course, it’s dishwasher safe. It’s easy to see why Pyrex Glass Bakeware has been popular for generations.
