Which is the Better Workout – P90X or Insanity?
I have both the P90X and Shaun T’s Insanity Workout. I really like both of them and as a Beachbody coach, I often get asked which program is better.
The P90X workout is a complete and balanced workout that has, as it’s purpose to increase your muscle mass, help you lose body fat as well as to become more flexible with a better sense of balance. This workout is lead by trainer Tony Horton who makes a big impression on how fitness can keep you young as he is now 50 years old but has a much better body than most 25 year olds.
Shaun T’s Insanity workout is a more focused program. Shaun T. brings us a super high intensity workout based on an inverted interval training cycle wherein you are performing high intensity exercises more often than you bring your heart rate down. This program focuses on increasing your speed and stamina while ripping the fat right off of your body.
So which one is best? It depends on your personal fitness needs. I like both but if I only could do one workout, I’d pick P90X because it’s so complete. With everything from resistance training to plyometrics, Kenpo karate and yoga, it really will keep you young. But if you are a runner and are looking for a program to supplement your running so you can cut some time off your competitive runs, try Insanity, you won’t be disappointed.
